2025 Excitement in the air here ahead of our Christmas party tonight. Much angst over whether to go ahead with it or not but we’re a democratic firm and the vote (the most-responded-to-poll in Redburn history) overwhelmingly in favour of cracking on with it. Let’s get endemic baby. Today was a calmer, more measured session […]

So December is upon us. The advent calendars are out, the elves are on their shelves, Greggs is bid only and you can quietly eat your body weight in Treeslets without any judgement. What a time to be alive. The Snapshot might be a bit – ahem – patchy this month as Courteney and I put our bodies on the line for the firm – starting with an Edinburgh jolly up client trip tomorrow and Friday. That’s fine though. It means we’ll miss some of the to-ing and fro-ing of what are some pretty choppy markets right now and hopefully be able to identify some of the bigger picture bits that you only get with a bit of perspective.

Everyone becoming an expert in something that until about 4 days ago they knew nothing about.

2025 Never mind the turkey, I hope you’ve got your X-Box and Playstation deliveries sorted for Christmas. Online electricals retailer AO World (-15%) warning today that both could be in short supply by Christmas as chip shortages continue to bite. One of those days where the single stock moves were violent, the mood unforgiving and […]

2025 So I’m off to Paris for a few days. Described by Macron’s heritage tsar, Stephane Bern, at the weekend as a “rubbish bin” as he announced he’s moving to the countryside because the city is “dirty, increasingly ugly and violent”. What nonsense. Three incredible restaurants plus some great clients lined up and the chance […]
